My client, a leading facilities and food services provider, is currently seeking an experienced Catering Assistant to join their team based in Cork City.

Position Overview:

As a Catering Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day food service operations within a busy, high-volume healthcare environment. Working as part of an established catering team, you will assist with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining strict hygiene and compliance standards to ensure a safe and efficient service for patients, staff, and visitors.

This is a fast-paced, structured role that requires strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail. The position offers €14.15 per hour and operates on a 5-over-7 roster, primarily daytime shifts with occasional evening requirements depending on operational needs. An immediate start is available for suitable candidates, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with prior high-volume catering experience who is ready to step into a stable and consistent working environment.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Min 1+ years’ Irish Catering Assistant experience in a high-volume catering or kitchen environment
• Valid Manual Handling certificate
• Valid Food Safety certification
• Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong level of English
• Written & Verbal
• Full right to work in Ireland
• Availability for a 5-over-7 roster

Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation and service
• Serve meals in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations
• Support kitchen staff during busy service periods
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant
• Follow all health & safety procedures within the healthcare environment
