My client, a leading provider of catering and facilities services, is currently seeking an experienced Food Manager to join their team based in Co. Cork.
Position Overview:
As Food Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Site General Manager and overseeing the day-to-day food and staffing operations across three on-site units within a hospital setting. This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for people, service delivery, and operational standards.
The role operates on a 5 over 7 Monday to Sunday roster (core working hours) and offers a salary from €35,000 per year, along with meals on duty. You will report directly to the General Manager on site and act as a key link between operations and senior management.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
Requirements:
• Min 3+ years Irish experience in food service or catering management in a high-volume environment essential
• Strong people management and organisational skills
• Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and compliance standards
• Ability to manage multiple units in a fast-paced environment
• Confident, hands-on management style
• Flexible to work a Monday to Sunday roster
• Full right to work in Ireland
• Strong level of English, Written & Verbal
Responsibilities:
• Support the Site General Manager with daily operations across multiple food service units
• Manage staffing levels, rosters, and day-to-day people management
• Oversee food service operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance
• Ensure HACCP, food safety, and health & safety standards are met at all times
• Monitor performance, productivity, and service standards across all units
• Handle stock control, ordering, and waste management
• Support training, onboarding, and development of team members
• Act as a point of escalation for operational issues on site
