I am currently assisting my client, a well-established commercial window, door and façade maintenance company, in the recruitment of a Window & Door Service Technician / Maintenance Fitter to join their team.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will work as part of the Service & Maintenance Division, carrying out a varied mix of service, maintenance, repair and remedial works on commercial windows and doors.

This is a mobile role covering commercial clients such as schools, offices, apartment blocks, industrial units and other commercial properties. There is no domestic/residential work involved.

A company van, tools and equipment will be provided. The successful candidate will be able to bring the van home and travel directly to jobs from home each day.

This role would suit an experienced window fitter, door fitter, service technician, maintenance fitter or carpenter with strong window and door experience. Experience with aluminium systems would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out service, maintenance and repair works on commercial windows and doors.
• Diagnose faults and identify suitable repair solutions.
• Repair, adjust and realign windows and doors.
• Repair and replace hinges, locks, handles, gearing, restrictors, closers and associated hardware.
• Carry out remedial works to existing window, door and façade systems.
• Investigate issues such as water ingress, draughts, poor operation and general defects.
• Attend planned maintenance and reactive service calls.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site managers and the internal service team.
• Complete service reports and identify any further remedial works required.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment.
• Work safely and maintain high standards of workmanship at all times.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a window fitter, door fitter, maintenance fitter, service technician, carpenter or similar.
• Strong practical experience working with windows and doors.
• Experience in commercial maintenance, repairs, remedial works or installation would be beneficial.
• Ability to fault-find and carry out repair works independently.
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and manage daily jobs.
• Full driving licence essential.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling would be beneficial.
• Experience with aluminium window and door systems would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Benefits:

• Salary of €45,000 to €60,000 DOE.
