I am currently assisting my client, a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor, in the recruitment of a Senior Project Manager to join their Power division.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of ESB infrastructure projects across Dublin and the surrounding counties.

This is a senior role requiring strong experience managing electrical utility infrastructure projects, including HV, MV, LV and EV infrastructure works. The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning, programme, commercial performance, project delivery, client relationships, subcontractor management and overall project governance.

Experience delivering ESB Networks projects and managing ESB approval processes is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of multiple ESB infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
• Manage projects involving HV, MV, LV and EV infrastructure works.
• Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, resources and delivery plans.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with ESB Networks standards and company procedures.
• Liaise with ESB Networks, local authorities, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate engineers, site agents, commercial teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress, identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Drive programme performance while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Oversee procurement activities and subcontractor management.
• Manage commercial performance including cost control, forecasting, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Support tender reviews, project planning and value engineering.
• Ensure project documentation, reporting and governance requirements are maintained.
• Promote a strong health, safety, environmental and quality culture.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting future work opportunities.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8-10 years’ experience managing utility or civil engineering projects.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering ESB Networks projects.
• Strong experience managing HV, MV, LV and EV infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of ESB Networks standards, procedures and specifications.
• Experience obtaining and managing ESB approvals is highly desirable.
• Strong commercial and contractual management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Strong programme planning and risk management capability.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Ability to be based in Dublin Monday to Friday.
