Position Overview:

I am currently assisting my client, a well established civil engineering and utilities contractor delivering major water infrastructure projects, in the recruitment of a Senior Design Project Manager to join their team.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

The successful candidate will manage the design process for water infrastructure projects, coordinating internal teams, external designers, project teams and key stakeholders to ensure design deliverables are completed on time, to the required standard and aligned with project delivery requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage design delivery across water infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate internal project teams, external designers, consultants and stakeholders.
• Review design programmes, technical submissions, drawings and design deliverables.
• Support project planning, buildability reviews, design risk reviews and technical coordination.
• Liaise with project managers, construction teams, clients and statutory bodies.
• Monitor design progress, identify risks and drive timely resolution of issues.
• Ensure designs are aligned with programme, budget, quality and construction requirements.
• Support value engineering and practical design solutions.
• Maintain strong design documentation, reporting and governance processes.
• Support projects from early design through to construction and handover stages.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in water infrastructure design and project management.
• Strong experience managing design delivery on civil engineering, utilities or water infrastructure projects.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is desirable.
• Strong understanding of water infrastructure, utilities, drainage, networks or related civil infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong knowledge of design programmes, technical documentation and construction requirements.
• Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work closely with both design and construction teams.
• Full clean driving licence is desirable due to project/site requirements.
