I am currently assisting my client, a long-established civil and structural engineering consultancy, in the recruitment of an Associate Civil Engineer to join their Limerick office.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Position Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to join a growing consultancy team at Associate level.

The successful candidate will work on the design and delivery of a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial and infrastructure sectors in Ireland and overseas.

This role would suit a Chartered Civil Engineer with strong consultancy design experience who is confident managing civil engineering design, coordinating with project teams, preparing high-quality documentation and supporting project delivery from planning stage through to construction.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage civil engineering design projects.
• Prepare and review civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Work on drainage, roads, site development, utilities and infrastructure-related design elements.
• Assist with the preparation of planning, tender and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, design teams and internal colleagues.
• Attend design team meetings and contribute to technical problem-solving.
• Manage project deliverables in line with agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Support and mentor junior/intermediate engineers.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and ISO 9001 procedures.
• Contribute to CPD, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the office.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland.
• Minimum 8+ years’ civil engineering design experience.
• Strong consultancy/design office background.
• Experience across residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical design ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage projects and communicate confidently with clients and design teams.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proven commitment to CPD.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience desirable.
• Windes / Microdrainage experience desirable.
• Overseas experience would be an advantage.
