I am currently assisting my client, a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor, in the recruitment of a Design Engineer to join their team.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will support the design process from tender stage through to construction on NTA, roads and utilities projects.

This role will involve coordinating design inputs, managing consultant deliverables, reviewing tender documentation, supporting planning and permitting processes, and working closely with internal project teams, clients, designers, consultants and subcontractors.

This would suit a Design Engineer, Civil Engineer or Design Coordinator with experience across Irish roads, utilities, NTA, civil infrastructure or similar projects.

Responsibilities:

• Review RFP and tender documentation.
• Coordinate pricing and technical input from consultants and subcontractors.
• Develop design proposals, programmes and methodologies for submission.
• Organise and manage site surveys and design deliverables during project mobilisation.
• Liaise with internal project teams, designers, consultants and clients.
• Ensure design information is progressed in line with project requirements and timelines.
• Support planning, permitting and CPO processes where required.
• Manage and submit design change orders and progress updates.
• Present developed designs at key project milestones.
• Finalise design documentation for construction.
• Provide ongoing design coordination and technical support during the construction phase.
• Support constructability reviews and ensure practical input from delivery teams is captured.

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in a design coordination, civil engineering or design engineering role.
• Experience working on Irish projects is essential.
• Familiarity with roads, utilities, NTA projects or civil infrastructure works.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with consultants, designers, clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or GIS would be beneficial.
• Excellent English and strong written communication skills.
• Valid visa / work permission to work in Ireland.
• Ability to work on site / in office in Dublin, Monday to Friday.
