I am currently assisting my client, a long-established civil and structural engineering consultancy, in the recruitment of an Associate Structural Engineer to join their Limerick office.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Position Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a growing consultancy team at Associate level.

The successful candidate will work on the design and delivery of a wide range of structural engineering projects across residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial and infrastructure sectors in Ireland and overseas.

This role would suit a Chartered Structural Engineer with strong consultancy design experience who is comfortable leading structural design, coordinating with clients and design teams, and supporting projects from planning and tender stage through to construction.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage structural engineering design projects.
• Prepare and review structural designs, drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Work on a range of building and infrastructure-related projects.
• Assist with the preparation of planning, tender and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, clients, contractors, design teams and internal colleagues.
• Attend design team meetings and provide technical input.
• Review structural design information and resolve technical queries.
• Support construction-stage design queries and project delivery.
• Mentor junior/intermediate engineers.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and ISO 9001 procedures.
• Contribute to CPD, technical development and knowledge sharing within the office.

Requirements:

• Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland.
• Minimum 8+ years’ structural engineering design experience.
• Strong consultancy/design office background.
• Experience across residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical design ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage projects and communicate confidently with clients and design teams.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proven commitment to CPD.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Revit / structural design software experience would be beneficial.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D, Windes or Microdrainage experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Overseas experience would be an advantage.
