Position Overview:
I am currently assisting my client, a well established civil engineering and utilities contractor delivering major road, transport and infrastructure projects, in the recruitment of a Senior Planner to join their team.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
The successful candidate will develop, manage and monitor project programmes across infrastructure and utilities works, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. Irish experience is essential.
Experience working under NEC contracts is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, manage and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Commercial teams to produce realistic schedules.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and delays and recommend mitigation measures.
• Prepare short term and look ahead programmes.
• Carry out programme impact and delay analysis where required.
• Support change management and compensation events, particularly under NEC contracts.
• Attend project and progress meetings, providing planning updates and reports.
• Ensure programmes align with construction methodologies, procurement schedules and resource plans.
• Assist with tender programmes and planning inputs for bids.
• Maintain accurate planning records, dashboards and reports.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within civils, utilities, roads or infrastructure projects.
• Irish construction or infrastructure experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and methodologies.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• NEC contract experience is highly desirable.
• Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams.
