My client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is now seeking an experienced PSDP / Safety Professional to join their Dublin office.
Position Overview:
As the PSDP / Safety Professional, you will play a key role in delivering Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) services across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout Ireland. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure health and safety is integrated into every stage of the design process, helping clients meet their statutory obligations while promoting best practice in design risk management.
The role will also provide the opportunity to work on projects where you will act as Health & Safety Coordinator on behalf of the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS), providing expert guidance throughout the construction lifecycle.
This is a full-time permanent position based in the client's Dublin office, offering a flexible remote working policy, flexible working hours and the opportunity to work on some of Ireland's most diverse engineering and construction projects. The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary from €65,000 per year depending on experience, together with an outstanding benefits package, continuous professional development and excellent long-term career progression opportunities.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
Requirements:
• Degree in Construction, Engineering or another related discipline.
• Background as an Architect, Building Surveyor, Civil & Structural Engineer, Mechanical & Electrical Engineer or similar construction professional.
• Min 4+ years' experience in a PSDP, Design Safety or Health & Safety consultancy role.
• Thorough knowledge of Irish Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.
• Extensive experience working across complex construction projects.
• Construction Safety and Health Training (desirable).
• Chartered membership of Engineers Ireland, IOSH or another relevant professional body (desirable).
• Occupational Health & Safety qualification and/or relevant industry experience (desirable).
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Full working rights in Ireland.
Responsibilities:
• Discharge the role of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) on construction projects.
• Coordinate designers to identify, eliminate and reduce risks throughout the design process.
• Prepare Preliminary Safety & Health Plans, Safety Files and Health & Safety Reports.
• Attend client meetings, design team meetings and site visits.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, designers, Project Supervisors Construction Stage (PSCS) and other project stakeholders.
• Review the competence of duty holders in accordance with current legislation.
• Carry out inspections and prepare reports relating to health and safety compliance and legal matters.
• Support contractors in discharging the role of PSCS where appointed.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Irish Health & Safety legislation and company ISO 9001 quality procedures.
• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across all projects.
