Position Overview:
My client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer to join its Dublin team.
This is a permanent role with the client. This is not an agency or short-term role; the successful candidate will be employed by and work for them directly.
The successful candidate will design and deliver a broad range of residential, commercial, healthcare and industrial projects in Ireland and overseas.
The position will initially be based full-time in the Dublin office during a familiarisation period and will also involve site visits. Once the successful candidate has settled into the position, there may be an opportunity to work from home one or two days per week, depending on experience, the requirements of the role and individual progress.
Responsibilities:
• Undertake structural analysis and design across a range of building projects
• Develop practical and economical structural solutions
• Design structures using concrete, steel, timber and masonry
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation
• Coordinate the preparation and review of structural drawings
• Produce planning, tender and construction information
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams
• Attend client, design-team and site meetings
• Carry out structural inspections and provide technical support during construction
• Ensure compliance with Eurocodes, relevant standards and quality procedures
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
• Assist with project, programme and resource management
Requirements:
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status
• Membership of Engineers Ireland and IStructE
• At least six years’ structural engineering experience covering design and construction
• Strong consultancy experience across building structures
• Detailed knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant Irish and European standards
• Experience designing structures in concrete, steel, timber and masonry
• Strong technical, communication and project-management abilities
• A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
