Position Overview:
I am currently assisting my client, a well established civil engineering and utilities contractor delivering water infrastructure projects, in the recruitment of a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join their HSQE team.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a water infrastructure contract from a health and safety perspective, with responsibility for site inspections, audits, RAMS, incident reporting, compliance, training, documentation and support to site management teams.
Candidates must be willing to travel to sites as required. A full clean driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Support the implementation of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across water infrastructure works.
• Review RAMS, safe systems of work, permits, site documentation and risk controls.
• Provide toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings where required.
• Support accident, incident and near miss investigations.
• Identify site hazards and work with site teams to close out actions.
• Maintain H&S records, reports, KPIs and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with the H&S Manager, project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Promote a practical, positive and proactive safety culture across the contract.
Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, Senior H&S Advisor, EHS Advisor or similar.
• Strong Irish construction, civils, utilities or water infrastructure experience is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of RAMS, audits, inspections, incident reporting and H&S documentation.
• Third level qualification in Health and Safety is desirable.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or similar safety qualification is desirable.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and support multiple site teams.
• Full clean driving licence is essential.
• Valid Safe Pass is highly desirable for site visits.
