Position Overview:
I am currently assisting my client, a leading engineering consultancy, in the recruitment of a PSDP / Safety Professional to join their Limerick office.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
The successful candidate will work on a wide range of projects where my client acts as Project Supervisor Design Process, PSDP. The role may also involve supporting projects where the company has been appointed as Health and Safety Coordinator by the PSCS.
Responsibilities:
• Discharge PSDP duties on construction projects.
• Attend client, design team and site meetings.
• Prepare preliminary safety and health plans.
• Compile and prepare safety files.
• Prepare health and safety reports.
• Carry out site visits as required.
• Coordinate and liaise with all parties involved in construction projects.
• Review the competence of duty holders.
• Support inspections and reports relating to health and safety matters.
• Work with contractor PSCS teams where required.
Requirements:
• Degree in Construction or a related discipline is desirable.
• Background as an Architect, Building Surveyor, Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Safety Professional will be considered.
• Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of Safety and Health legislation.
• PSDP experience is strongly preferred.
• Construction Safety and Health training is desirable.
• Chartered membership of Engineers Ireland, IOSH or similar is desirable.
• Occupational Health and Safety qualification and/or experience is desirable.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
