My client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is now seeking an experienced PSDP / Safety Professional to join their Limerick office.

Position Overview:

As the PSDP / Safety Professional, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of construction projects by undertaking the duties of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) across a diverse portfolio of developments throughout Ireland. Working closely with clients, designers, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams, you will help ensure that health and safety considerations are embedded into the design process from project inception through to completion.

This is a full-time permanent position based in the client's Limerick office, with a flexible remote working policy and flexible working hours that promote an excellent work-life balance while supporting collaboration across project teams. The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary from €55,000 depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package, ongoing professional development and excellent long-term career progression opportunities within a growing consultancy.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Health & Safety or another relevant construction-related discipline.
• Min 4+ years' experience in a PSDP, Health & Safety or design consultancy role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.
• Experience acting as PSDP on construction projects or supporting the PSDP function.
• Experience preparing Preliminary Safety & Health Plans and Safety Files.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Membership of Engineers Ireland, IOSH or another relevant professional body is desirable.
• Full working rights in Ireland.

Responsibilities:

• Act as Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) across a wide range of construction projects.
• Coordinate designers to ensure health and safety risks are identified, eliminated or reduced during the design process.
• Prepare and maintain Preliminary Safety & Health Plans and Safety Files.
• Attend client, design team and project meetings.
• Provide health and safety advice throughout the design and planning stages of projects.
• Liaise with Project Supervisors Construction Stage (PSCS), contractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with current Irish health and safety legislation and company ISO 9001 quality procedures.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all projects.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of internal health and safety procedures and best practice.
