My client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer to join its team in Limerick.

This is a permanent role with the client. This is not an agency or short-term role; the successful candidate will be employed by and work for them directly.

The successful candidate will design and deliver a broad selection of residential, commercial, healthcare and industrial projects in Ireland and overseas.

The position will initially be based full-time in the Limerick office during a familiarisation period and will also involve site visits. Once the successful candidate has settled into the position, there may be an opportunity to work from home one or two days per week, depending on experience, the requirements of the role and individual progress.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake the structural analysis and design of building projects
• Develop practical and economical solutions using concrete, steel, timber and masonry
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation
• Coordinate the production and review of structural drawings
• Prepare planning, tender and construction information
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams
• Attend client, design-team and site meetings
• Carry out inspections and provide technical assistance during construction
• Ensure work complies with relevant standards, Eurocodes and quality procedures
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers
• Assist with the management of projects, resources and programme requirements

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status
• Membership of Engineers Ireland and IStructE
• At least six years’ structural engineering experience covering both design and construction
• Consultancy experience across building structures
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant Irish and European standards
• Experience designing structures in concrete, steel, timber and masonry
• Strong technical, communication and project-coordination abilities
• A proactive approach to problem-solving
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
