Site Engineer – Cork

My Client, one of Irelands leading construction contractors are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer to join a well-established main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects in the Cork area. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, while gaining valuable experience on large-scale projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of engineering activities on site. You will work closely with the site team and subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are delivered in line with programme and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Setting out works in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Conducting site surveys and preparing as-built drawings
• Interpreting drawings and technical information for site execution
• Coordinating with subcontractors and site personnel
• Assisting in planning and sequencing of works to meet programme targets
• Liaising with client representatives and the design team
• Ensuring all works are carried out in line with Health & Safety standards
• Monitoring quality control and ensuring works meet required specifications
• Managing materials on site, including ordering and control
• Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
• 2–3+ years’ experience in a Site Engineer role
• Experience working on construction projects (main contractor experience desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly motivated with a focus on safety, quality, and programme delivery
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Full driving licence
