My Client, one of Irelands leading construction contractors are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to step into a Senior role with a leading main contractor, delivering high-quality construction projects across the Munster region. The role will involve working on large-scale building projects, with a strong emphasis on concrete frame and structural works.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering aspects of the project, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers and coordinating site activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor Junior Engineers and coordinate subcontractors on site
• Carry out setting out, site surveys, and preparation of as-built drawings
• Interpret drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate execution of works
• Plan and sequence works to ensure programme targets are achieved
• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and design teams
• Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety standards on site
• Monitor and enforce quality standards across all works
• Manage ordering and control of materials on site
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records and documentation

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in construction engineering (ideally more for senior level)
• Strong experience in building projects, with concrete frame experience essential
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior engineers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly motivated with a focus on delivering on safety, quality, and programme
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Full driving licence
