MEP Coordinator – (Project-Based Role)
My Client, one of Irelands leading construction contractors are currently recruiting for an MEP Coordinator to join their growing team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
This is an excellent opportunity for an MEP Coordinator to join a leading main contractor and work on major, high-value construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating MEP services across all project phases, ensuring seamless delivery from design through to commissioning and handover.
The Role
You will be responsible for coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities on site, ensuring that installations are delivered in line with programme, specifications, and quality standards. You will work closely with the design team, subcontractors, and project management team to ensure efficient delivery of services.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all phases of MEP services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
• Manage and track the flow of design information and technical submittals in line with the project schedule
• Liaise with design teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of information
• Monitor MEP installations on site, ensuring compliance with specifications and approved drawings
• Chair coordination meetings with MEP subcontractors
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between drawings and technical specifications
• Provide regular progress updates and reports to the project team
• Ensure all MEP works are carried out in line with Health & Safety standards
• Support testing, commissioning, and system demonstrations to clients
• Assist in the preparation and submission of project documentation, including BCAR and safety file requirements
Requirements:
• Relevant third-level qualification or professional certification in Building Services / Engineering
• 3–5 years’ experience in an MEP coordination or similar role
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects (main contractor experience desirable)
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Experience working with BIM models and coordination tools
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong planning, organisational, and time management abilities
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines
