My client, an established provider of motoring services, is currently seeking a Service Advisor to join their team at a busy service, maintenance and repair centre in Tallaght, Dublin 24.
Position Overview:
As Service Advisor, you will be responsible for looking after customers throughout the servicing and repair process, with a strong focus on customer service, communication and the smooth coordination of work within the centre.
Working closely with the Service Manager and technicians, you will handle customer enquiries, prepare work orders, arrange parts and keep customers informed of their vehicle’s progress, recommended repairs and costs.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, either 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm, fully on site. The role offers a salary of up to €50,000 per annum depending on experience, plus a 5% bonus and yearly salary reviews. Higher salary expectations may be considered for suitably experienced senior candidates.
My client would ideally like someone with Service Advisor or Sales Advisor experience, but will also consider candidates with a strong customer service background and a genuine interest in and knowledge of cars and parts.
This role will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.
Requirements:
• Ideally, a minimum of two years’ experience in Service/Aftersales within a dealership or automotive service environment.
• Candidates with a strong Sales Advisor or customer service background and knowledge of cars and parts will also be considered.
• Previous experience in sales, upselling, cross-selling or promoting products and services.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and Teams.
• Familiarity with online fleet systems would be an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
• Welcome customers and provide excellent service from vehicle intake through to collection.
• Discuss customer-reported vehicle issues and prepare clear work orders for technicians.
• Liaise with technicians regarding servicing, maintenance and repair requirements.
• Keep customers updated on progress and explain recommended work clearly.
• Order necessary parts from suppliers and ensure they are delivered to technicians.
• Identify opportunities to recommend relevant products and services.
• Prepare invoices and collect customer payments.
• Maintain accurate customer records and update internal databases.
• Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day running of the centre.
