My client, an established provider of retail, catering and hospitality services, is seeking an experienced Retail Assistant to join their team at a busy site in Waterford.
Position Overview:
As Retail Assistant, you will support the daily retail operation, serving customers, operating tills, replenishing stock and ensuring the shop floor is clean and well presented.
You will also assist with stocktakes, inventory management and deliveries. Strong experience in stocktaking, inventory management, till operation and front-of-house customer service is essential.
This position involves working five days over seven, Monday to Sunday, with mixed shifts, offering an hourly rate from €14.15, depending on experience. Flexibility across weekdays and weekends is required.
This role will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a busy retail environment
• Strong stocktaking and inventory management experience
• Confident operating tills and POS systems, handling cash and processing payments
• Experience receiving deliveries, replenishing shelves and rotating stock
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when checking stock and transactions
• Reliable, organised and comfortable working during busy periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Available for mixed shifts across weekdays and weekends
• Eligible to work in Ireland
Responsibilities:
• Serve customers and respond professionally to queries
• Operate tills and process cash and card payments accurately
• Complete stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies
• Receive and check deliveries against delivery documentation
• Replenish shelves and displays, ensuring correct pricing and presentation
• Rotate stock and monitor expiry dates where applicable
• Keep the shop floor, counter and stockroom clean and organised
• Follow cash-handling, security and health and safety procedures
• Support the team with the smooth running of the retail operation
