My client is currently seeking a sales-focused Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Warehouse Operative to join their growing team in Dublin 15.

Position Overview:

As the Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Warehouse Operative, your primary focus will be on sales and customer service, helping customers identify suitable products, processing orders and building strong customer relationships.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining trade counter sales, customer enquiries, order processing and administration with support for the warehouse operation. You will deal directly with customers at the counter, by phone and email, identifying sales opportunities and supporting the field-based sales team.

Previous sales experience is essential. Candidates from retail sales, internal sales, customer-facing sales or trade counter backgrounds are welcome to apply. Product and warehouse training will be provided, and previous warehouse experience is desirable rather than essential.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, offering a salary from €38,000 per year DOE, along with excellent opportunities for growth and progression.

This role will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in sales, such as retail sales, internal sales, trade counter sales or another customer-facing sales role
• Ability to identify customer needs, recommend suitable products and convert enquiries into sales
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and a proactive, sales-focused approach
• Confidence dealing with customers face-to-face, over the phone and by email
• Experience handling customer enquiries and processing sales or orders
• Willingness to learn the product range and develop technical product knowledge
• Good administrative, organisational and computer skills
• Willingness to support hands-on warehouse duties alongside sales responsibilities
• Previous warehouse, stock control or order-picking experience is desirable
• Counterbalance and High Reach Forklift licences are desirable; relevant training will be provided where required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, hardworking and comfortable working in a busy environment
• Full working rights in Ireland

Please note: Sales experience is the key requirement for this position. Previous trade counter or warehouse experience is advantageous, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers at the trade counter and provide a professional, helpful service
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products
• Convert customer enquiries into sales and identify opportunities for additional sales
• Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers
• Process sales and customer orders accurately
• Handle product enquiries and orders by phone and email
• Develop product knowledge to provide informed advice to customers
• Support field-based sales representatives with customer enquiries and orders
• Complete sales administration and maintain accurate customer and order records
• Assist with stock control and checking product availability
• Pick and prepare orders for customer collections and deliveries
• Support loading, unloading and stock movement following appropriate training
• Operate warehouse equipment only after completing the required training and authorisation
• Support the wider trade counter and warehouse team as required
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment
