My client, an established provider of catering and hospitality services, is seeking an experienced Barista/Catering Assistant to join their team at a busy site in Waterford.

Position Overview:

As Barista / Catering Assistant, you will prepare and serve high-quality coffees and other beverages while supporting the day-to-day catering operation. Your duties will include food preparation, serving customers, replenishing counters and maintaining clean and organised catering areas.

Strong coffee-making experience is essential, including confidence using professional espresso machines and preparing a range of coffees during busy service periods.

This position involves working five days over seven, Monday to Sunday, with mixed shifts, offering an hourly rate from €14.15, depending on experience. Flexibility across weekdays and weekends is required.

This role will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.

Requirements:

• Strong previous barista experience, including using professional espresso machines and grinders
• Confident with espresso extraction, milk steaming and preparing a range of coffees
• Previous catering assistant or food-service experience desirable
• Willingness to assist with food preparation, service and cleaning duties
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good understanding of food hygiene and allergen awareness
• Comfortable using tills and POS systems
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively during busy periods
• Flexible to work mixed shifts across weekdays and weekends
• Eligible to work in Ireland

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffees, teas and other beverages to a consistently high standard
• Assist with preparing sandwiches, snacks and other food items
• Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally
• Take orders, operate the till and process payments accurately
• Replenish food displays, service counters and beverage supplies
• Maintain clean and organised preparation, service and dining areas
• Clean coffee equipment, utensils and catering equipment
• Assist with washing up, waste disposal and general catering duties
• Follow food safety, HACCP, allergen and health and safety procedures
• Support the catering team to ensure smooth daily service
