My client, a leading provider of catering and facilities services, is currently seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee its catering division at a busy site in Waterford.

Position Overview:

As General Manager, you will oversee the full day-to-day operation of the catering division. You will manage the on-site team, maintain service standards and oversee the financial and administrative aspects of the operation, including the POS system, invoicing, stock management and cost control.

You will act as the main point of contact for the client and ensure the catering service operates efficiently, remains compliant and meets all agreed financial and service targets.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Waterford, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and offering a salary of €45,000 per year.

This role will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a General Manager, Catering Manager, Contract Manager or senior hospitality manager
• Strong experience overseeing a catering or food-service operation
• Previous experience managing POS systems and cash reconciliation
• Experience processing and reviewing invoices
• Strong financial awareness, including budgeting, cost control and stock management
• Proven experience leading and managing an operational team
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety and workplace health and safety
• Strong client-management and customer-service skills
• Excellent administration, communication and organisational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy working environment
• Strong IT skills and confidence using reporting and operational systems
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operation of the catering division
• Manage and support the kitchen, catering and service teams
• Ensure consistently high standards of food, presentation and customer service
• Manage the on-site POS system and ensure transactions are accurately recorded
• Complete cash reconciliation and investigate any discrepancies
• Process, review and maintain accurate records of invoices
• Monitor budgets, labour costs, sales, stock levels and operational expenditure
• Manage ordering, deliveries, stock rotation and supplier relationships
• Prepare operational and financial reports for the client and wider management team
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, training and performance
• Maintain a professional relationship with the client and respond to operational requirements
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food-safety and health-and-safety procedures
• Complete all required audits, records and compliance documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve service standards, control costs and increase efficiency
