My client, a well-established and busy hotel operation, is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Duty Manager to join their management team based in Tralee, Co. Kerry.

Position Overview:

As the Duty Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring service standards are consistently delivered and that all departments run smoothly. This is a hands-on role, working closely with all teams across the hotel including bar, restaurant, events, and reception.

You will carry out Duty Management shifts, ensuring the smooth running of operations across morning, lunch, and evening service, while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience, service standards, and team support.

This is a full-time position, working approximately 45 hours per week on a 5 over 7 basis (Monday to Sunday rotation), offering a salary of up to €40,000 per year depending on experience.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Min 3+ years’ experience in a Duty Manager or similar supervisory role within a busy hotel or hospitality environment
• Strong food & beverage experience is essential
• Hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front
• Strong customer-focused mindset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Passion for hospitality and delivering high standards
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work across multiple departments and adapt to business needs

Responsibilities:

• Carry out Duty Management shifts, overseeing all hotel operations
• Ensure the smooth running of bar, restaurant, and food service across all day parts
• Maintain high standards of service, presentation, and guest experience
• Work closely with all departments, supporting where required
• Anticipate guest needs and proactively manage expectations
• Handle and resolve customer queries and issues efficiently
• Liaise with the Sales & Events team to ensure meeting rooms and functions are set up correctly
• Support the training, induction, and development of team members
• Ensure effective communication across all departments during shifts
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and Fire Safety regulations
• Monitor security of the hotel, including stock and keys
• Identify and report maintenance issues and workplace hazards
• Take responsibility for emergency situations when on duty
