My client, a growing organisation within the technology sector, is currently seeking experienced Field Service Engineers to join their team across Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Kilkenny.

Position Overview:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide onsite IT support, maintenance and project services across customer locations, with a particular focus on EPOS and retail technology.

This is a hands-on, field-based role involving break/fix support, installations, upgrades and general IT project work. You will work independently across your assigned region while liaising with customers and the internal support team to ensure a high standard of service.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, offering a salary of €33,000–€39,000 per year DOE, with a company van provided.

The position also includes a 1-in-3-week on-call rota, with a €250 on-call allowance plus applicable overtime.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to join their team directly.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar IT Field Service or technical support role
• Previous EPOS / retail IT experience is highly desirable
• Experience carrying out onsite break/fix and hardware troubleshooting
• Experience with IT installations, upgrades, maintenance or project works
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently across multiple customer locations
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, Helpdesk and Project teams
• High degree of flexibility regarding working hours and location when required
• Comfortable participating in a 1-in-3-week on-call rota
• Strong attention to detail when completing job and stock documentation
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements when working onsite
• Full clean Irish or European driving licence
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Full working rights in Ireland

Responsibilities:

• Deliver onsite IT maintenance and technical support across customer locations
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and equipment faults
• Provide EPOS and retail IT support
• Carry out break/fix repairs and remedial works
• Complete IT installations and project-related works
• Carry out IMAC works, software upgrades and equipment decommissioning
• Support the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and retail technology
• Follow required PCI and P2P procedures when handling payment and credit card devices
• Keep customers and internal teams updated throughout each job
• Liaise with the relevant Helpdesk and follow escalation procedures where required
• Update job progress through the company's mobile application
• Accurately record stock usage and equipment deployment
• Complete all required service and project documentation
• Ensure work is carried out safely and in line with Health & Safety standards
• Maintain regular communication with the Field Service and Project Services teams
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times
