I am currently assisting my client, a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor, in the recruitment of Design Engineers / Design Coordinators to join their team.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Position Overview:

My client currently has multiple permanent opportunities available within their design team, supporting major civil engineering and utilities projects across Ireland.

The available positions will cover Water/Wastewater, Power and Roads/Utilities projects, so these roles may suit candidates with experience in any of the following areas: water infrastructure, wastewater, drainage, utilities, power infrastructure, roads, transport infrastructure, public realm or civil engineering design coordination.

These are office-based roles in Blanchardstown, Dublin, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities:

• Support the design process from tender stage through to construction.
• Coordinate design inputs from consultants, subcontractors, internal teams and clients.
• Review drawings, technical submissions, specifications and design deliverables.
• Assist with the review of RFP documents, design proposals, methodologies and programmes.
• Support design coordination across water/wastewater, power, roads, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Liaise with project teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable and commercially aligned.
• Assist with planning, permitting, surveys, design changes, RFIs and construction-stage queries.
• Review consultant/subcontractor design information and identify gaps, clashes or missing details.
• Provide design support to construction teams during project delivery.
• Attend internal and external meetings as required.
• Maintain strong communication between design, commercial and construction teams.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Design Engineer, Civil Design Engineer, Design Coordinator, Project Engineer or similar.
• Experience working on Irish construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Background in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
• Water / wastewater
• Drainage / sewer / watermain projects
• Power infrastructure
• Roads / transport / NTA-type projects
• Utilities coordination
• Civil engineering design coordination
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or similar would be beneficial.
• Ability to review technical drawings, specifications and design documents.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Valid work permission / visa required.
• Experience working in Ireland is required.
• Full driving licence would be beneficial.
