My client, a leading provider of catering, facilities and workplace services, is currently seeking an experienced General Manager to join their team based in Waterford.
Position Overview:
As the General Manager, you will take ownership of the daily operations of a busy high-volume catering environment, ensuring excellent service standards, strong financial performance and continued growth of the food offering.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the catering operation, leading the team, driving food sales, supporting menu development and ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
This role requires a commercially focused manager with strong administration and financial skills, including experience managing budgets, raising purchase orders, processing invoices and controlling costs.
This is a full-time permanent position offering €23.00 per hour (negotiable depending on experience), working Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 4:00PM.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
Requirements:
• Min 3+ years’ experience in a Catering Manager, General Manager, Kitchen Manager, Food Service Manager or similar leadership role
• Previous experience managing a high-volume catering, hospitality or food service environment essential
• Proven experience driving food sales and increasing customer engagement
• Strong menu planning and food development experience
• Strong financial and commercial understanding
• Experience managing budgets, costs, purchasing and stock control
• Experience raising purchase orders (POs), processing invoices and completing financial administration
• Previous team management experience including training, performance and daily operations
• Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to build strong relationships
• Strong administration, organisation and communication skills
• Ability to work in a busy environment while maintaining high standards
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and health & safety requirements
Responsibilities:
• Manage the day-to-day running of a busy catering operation
• Lead, support and motivate the on-site team
• Ensure excellent food quality, presentation and customer service standards
• Drive food sales and identify opportunities to improve site performance
• Support menu planning, promotions and development of the food offering
• Manage purchasing, stock control, budgets and operational costs
• Raise purchase orders and process invoices accurately
• Complete required administration, reporting and financial processes
• Monitor performance and identify areas for continuous improvement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
• Ensure all food safety, HACCP and health & safety procedures are followed
• Create a positive working environment and support team development
