My client, a leading provider of workplace catering and facilities services, is currently seeking an experienced Chef Manager to oversee a busy catering operation in Co Louth.

Position Overview:

As Chef Manager, you will manage the daily catering operation while working hands-on alongside the kitchen team. This is not solely a management position, and the successful candidate must be comfortable actively preparing, cooking and presenting food each day.

You will be responsible for maintaining consistently high standards across food quality, service, hygiene, cost control and team performance.

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering a salary of €45,000 per year.

This role will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or experienced Sous Chef
• Strong hands-on cooking experience within a busy kitchen
• Previous experience managing or supervising a catering team
• Ability to manage food preparation and service while overseeing the wider operation
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety and workplace health and safety
• Experience with stock control, ordering, menu planning and cost management
• Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills
• Ability to maintain high standards during busy service periods
• Professional culinary qualification is desirable
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food as part of the daily kitchen operation
• Manage the day-to-day delivery of the catering service
• Lead, support and coordinate the kitchen and service team
• Plan menus and ensure food is prepared to a consistently high standard
• Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries and supplier relationships
• Monitor food costs, waste, portion control and operational budgets
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food-safety and health-and-safety procedures
• Maintain accurate records and complete all required kitchen documentation
• Organise staff duties and ensure the operation is appropriately covered
• Respond professionally to client and customer requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
