My client, a leading provider of catering, retail and facilities management services, is now seeking an experienced Relief Chef to support a busy café operation based in Kilkenny, County Kilkenny.

Position Overview:


As a Relief Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of a busy café kitchen, preparing and serving fresh, high-quality food while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.

This role would suit a reliable and experienced chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment and is comfortable supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods.

This is a daytime hours role, operating Monday to Sunday depending on roster requirements, with a pay rate of €18–€20 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements:


• Minimum 2+ years' experience working as a Chef in Ireland
• Previous experience within a busy café, restaurant, catering or similar food service environment
• Experience working within a high-volume kitchen is essential
• Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Full right to work in Ireland

Responsibilities:


• Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality food in line with site standards
• Support the preparation and delivery of breakfast, lunch and café service
• Maintain consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
• Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, food safety and kitchen cleanliness
• Ensure all HACCP procedures are followed and documented correctly
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Assist with stock control, deliveries and minimising food waste
• Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are kept clean and organised
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
