My client, a leading provider of catering and hospitality services, is currently seeking reliable and hardworking Temporary Kitchen Porters to join their team at a secure, high-profile location in Co. Cork.
Position Overview:
As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen team by ensuring all kitchen areas, equipment and utensils are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You will assist with deliveries, stock organisation and basic food preparation duties while helping to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently throughout service.
This is a temporary position working 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday, on a rotating roster of either 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Successful candidates will be required to complete Garda Vetting and a pre-employment security clearance process before commencing work.
This is a temporary role with Total Solutions, working on assignment with our client.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 6 months' experience as a Kitchen Porter or within a busy kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen is advantageous.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
• Flexible to work a 5/7 roster, including weekends.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Must be eligible to complete Garda Vetting and the required pre-employment screening.
• Full right to work in Ireland.
Responsibilities:
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen, pot wash and storage areas.
• Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with company procedures.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and storage.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation when required.
• Follow HACCP, food safety and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed to a high standard.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain an efficient operation.
