My client, a leading facilities management and catering provider, is currently seeking an experienced Catering Assistant to join their team based in Waterford.

Position Overview:

As the Catering Assistant you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of food services within a busy healthcare environment. You will assist with food preparation, service, and maintaining high hygiene standards, ensuring patients, staff, and visitors receive meals in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.

This is a part-time position offering 20 hours per week, working Monday to Sunday on a 5 over 7 basis, with a mix of daytime and evening shifts. The hourly rate for this role is €14.15 per hour.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years’ catering experience (essential)
• Experience in healthcare or high-volume catering environments desirable
• Strong level of English (written & verbal)
• Full right to work in Ireland
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with food preparation and service
• Serving meals in line with portion control and dietary requirements
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene (HACCP compliant)
• Washing dishes and ensuring kitchen areas are kept clean and organised
• Supporting chefs and senior catering staff as required
• Adhering to all health & safety procedures at all times
