My client, a leading provider of food and hospitality services, is currently seeking an experienced Chef Manager to join their team at a busy site in the Cork area.
Position Overview:
As Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the catering service at a busy site in the Cork area, with a strong focus on food quality, hospitality and customer service.
This is a hands-on management position, where you will work alongside the kitchen team supporting daily food production while also taking responsibility for team management, food safety, service standards, client relationships and the commercial performance of the operation.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working Mon to Fri, offering a salary of €45,000 per annum.
This role will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.
Requirements:
• Approved catering qualification at Diploma/Degree level and/or 2–5 years' relevant industry experience
• Minimum 2 years' experience at management or department head level
• Strong background within 4-star hospitality
• Excellent people management and team leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP
• Ability to work effectively within a busy and pressurised hospitality environment
• Strong client and customer service skills
• Commercially focused with experience managing budgets and achieving financial targets
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
Responsibilities:
• Manage the day-to-day catering and kitchen operation, ensuring consistently high standards of food and service
• Work hands-on alongside the kitchen team, supporting daily food production when required
• Lead, train and develop the catering team
• Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback
• Ensure excellent presentation and quality of all food produced
• Plan and execute catering events of varying sizes
• Maintain strong working relationships with the client and customers
• Ensure all food hygiene, HACCP, Health & Safety and operational standards are maintained
• Manage food and labour targets and support the achievement of catering revenue forecasts
• Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenditure and labour costs
• Complete weekly reporting and performance reviews
• Maintain accurate staff records, including training, scheduling and performance documentation
