My client is currently seeking an experienced Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Warehouse Operative to join their growing team in Cork.

Position Overview:

As the Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Warehouse Operative, you will work across both the customer-facing trade counter and warehouse operation.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining trade counter sales, customer service, order processing, stock control and warehouse duties. You will deal directly with customers at the counter, by phone and email, while also supporting warehouse operations including picking orders, loading and unloading deliveries and forklift operation.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, offering a salary from €38,000 per year DOE, along with excellent opportunities for growth and progression.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis. This is not an agency or short-term role. I am assisting my client in finding a suitable candidate to join their team directly.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years' relevant trade counter sales experience, ideally within builders merchants, construction supplies, hardware, industrial supplies or a similar trade environment
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
• Valid High Reach Forklift Licence
• Previous experience operating both Counterbalance and High Reach forklifts within a warehouse environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Commercially aware with a sales-focused approach
• Comfortable dealing with customers face-to-face, over the phone and by email
• Previous experience processing customer sales, orders and enquiries
• Good administrative and organisational skills
• Comfortable carrying out both customer-facing and hands-on warehouse duties
• Experience with stock control, picking and preparing customer orders
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Reliable, hardworking and comfortable working within a busy environment
• Full working rights in Ireland

Please note: Previous trade counter sales experience and valid Counterbalance and High Reach Forklift licences are essential requirements for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Meeting and greeting customers at the trade counter
• Processing direct sales and customer orders
• Handling customer enquiries and orders by phone and email
• Providing a high standard of customer service
• Supporting field-based sales representatives
• Assisting with stock control
• Completing general office and administrative duties
• Picking and preparing orders for customer collections and deliveries
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers
• Operating Counterbalance and High Reach forklifts
• Moving and organising stock safely within the warehouse
• Supporting the wider trade counter and warehouse team as required
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
