My client, a well-established and respected hospitality venue, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join their team based in North, Co. Dublin.
Position Overview:
As the Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional food across weddings, functions, and service periods. This is a hands-on role suited to a strong Irish-experienced Sous Chef who is confident running sections, leading service, and producing high-quality starters, mains, and sides in a busy hotel environment.
The role operates on a Monday to Sunday core roster (any 5 days over 7) and offers a salary of €43,000 per year, providing stability, structure, and long-term career opportunity within a reputable hotel operation.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
Requirements:
• Min 3+ years Irish experience as a Sous Chef (essential)
• Strong background in weddings, functions, and high-volume service
• Solid knowledge of rustic, classic Irish cuisine
• Confident preparing starters, mains, and sides to a high standard
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work a rotating 5 days over 7 schedule, including weekends
• Passion for quality food and leading by example in the kitchen
Responsibilities:
• Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and event execution
• Take responsibility for kitchen service in the Head Chef’s absence
• Prepare and deliver high-quality starters, mains, and sides in line with menu standards
• Lead and support the kitchen team during weddings, functions, and peak service periods
• Ensure consistency, portion control, and presentation across all dishes
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and waste management
• Maintain full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety standards
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and running efficiently at all times
