I am currently assisting my client, a leading Tier 1 construction contractor, in the recruitment of an experienced Project Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the delivery of a large-scale new-build development in County Carlow. The project is at commencement stage and is expected to run for approximately two years.

This is a permanent, site-based position offering the opportunity to lead a significant construction project from its early stages through to completion and handover.

Responsibilities:

• Take overall responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of the project.
• Establish, maintain and regularly update the construction programme.
• Lead the site management, engineering and project delivery teams.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.
• Coordinate procurement, design development and technical information.
• Monitor progress, quality and project performance.
• Work closely with the commercial team on procurement, costs and variations.
• Maintain strong relationships with the client, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Chair project meetings and provide clear progress reports.
• Identify construction risks and implement corrective measures.
• Oversee completion, commissioning and handover activities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on substantial new-build construction projects.
• Previous experience working for an established main contractor.
• Strong construction programme, procurement and design-coordination experience.
• Demonstrable experience leading project teams and managing subcontractors.
• Relevant construction, engineering or project-management qualification.
• Excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety, quality and construction compliance.
• Valid Safe Pass.
• Full clean driving licence.
