My client, a well-established and reputable motor dealership and service centre, is seeking an experienced Qualified Mechanic to join their busy workshop based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.

Position Overview:

As the Qualified Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring each customer receives exceptional service. Working within a professional workshop environment, you’ll use the latest diagnostic technology and tools to identify faults accurately and carry out repairs efficiently and safely.

You’ll work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, as part of a supportive and highly experienced team that values precision, teamwork, and customer care.

This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary from €40,000 per year, with flexibility to negotiate depending on experience.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified mechanic (QQI Level 6 or equivalent)
• Experience working in a main dealer or multi-brand service environment
• Strong background in vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and repairs
• HGV mechanic experience or exposure to commercial vehicles is a strong advantage
• Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organisational abilities
• Full, clean Irish driving licence

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and service vehicles to manufacturer standards
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical data to identify and resolve faults
• Conduct pre-NCT checks, maintenance, and mechanical inspections
• Liaise with the Service Manager and colleagues to ensure efficient workflow
• Complete all required service documentation and reports accurately
• Adhere to all health, safety, and workshop compliance standards
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and ensure all tools and equipment are used correctly
