My client, a leading plant hire company, is currently seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join their team based in Dublin 22

Position Overview:

As the Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of heavy plant and construction equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge and mechanical expertise to minimise downtime and ensure all machinery operates at peak performance.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with a competitive salary of €45,000 – €50,000 per year, depending on experience.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or Heavy Plant Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of plant machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
• Full, clean driver’s licence (HGV or relevant licence desirable)
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Good level of English and full right to work in Ireland
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and repair plant machinery including excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults effectively
• Carry out routine inspections and ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Liaise with the operations team to prioritise repairs and minimise downtime
• Provide on-site breakdown support when required
• Follow all health & safety guidelines and ensure safe working practices at all times
