Job Details
I am currently assisting my client, a growing Irish-owned mechanical services contractor, in the recruitment of an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer.
This is a permanent position directly with the company and is not an agency or short-term contract.
Position Overview:
The position is primarily focused on planned preventative maintenance across commercial HVAC systems in the Dublin area. Reactive repairs will generally arise from issues identified during maintenance visits, with some installation and replacement work also required.
The engineer will work across a broad range of equipment, including Split Systems, VRV/VRF systems, Fan Coil Units, Heat Recovery Units and Air Handling Units.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete reactive repairs where required.
• Work on Split Systems, VRV/VRF systems, FCUs, HRUs and AHUs.
• Install or replace refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment when required.
• Complete fault-finding across electrical and mechanical HVAC components.
• Advise clients on repairs, system improvements and energy efficiency.
• Complete service reports, record parts used and recommend follow-up work.
• Ensure all work complies with company procedures and relevant health and safety requirements.
• Participate in a 1-in-5 after-hours call-out rota.
Requirements:
• Fully qualified Refrigeration or HVAC Technician.
• Completed Refrigeration Apprenticeship or a recognised equivalent overseas qualification.
• Valid F-Gas certification is essential.
• Ideally at least three to four years’ post-trade experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
• Previous experience with an Irish HVAC contractor or facilities-maintenance company is strongly preferred.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland.
Benefits:
• Basic salary of €60,000–€65,000, depending on experience.
• Company van.
• Fuel card and tolls covered.
• Company phone and tools.
• Overtime and standby payments paid in addition to the basic salary.
• 23 days’ annual leave.
• 39-hour working week, Monday to Friday.
• Regular training and opportunities to upskill.
• Career progression within a growing company.
• Permanent employment directly with the contractor.
Applications will be handled in complete confidence. Your CV will never be sent to any company without your prior knowledge and permission.
