My client, a construction cost consultancy based in Drumcondra, Dublin 9, is looking for a Senior Construction Estimator to join their team. They provide estimating and quantity surveying services to construction companies. You will work directly with their clients, taking responsibility for tenders from the first set of drawings through to the final price.

This is a permanent role with the client. This is not an agency or short-term role; the successful candidate will be employed by and work for them directly.

The role is mainly remote, with one day per week in the Drumcondra office. The package includes a pension and 23 days’ annual leave. My client would like someone to start as soon as possible.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to establish what needs to be priced.
• Measure quantities and build up rates for labour, plant and materials.
• Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations, checking what each price includes.
• Raise queries with the client, flag gaps in the information and record any assumptions or exclusions.
• Prepare the final tender breakdown and talk the client through the figures before submission.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of hands-on construction estimating experience.
• Experience independently pricing construction tenders from enquiry through to submission.
• A sound working knowledge of construction rates and tendering practices in the Irish market.
• Ability to explain pricing decisions clearly to contractors and manage tender deadlines while working remotely.
• Ability to attend the Drumcondra office one day per week.
