My client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a Chartered Senior Civil Engineer to join its team in Limerick.

This is a permanent role with the client. This is not an agency or short-term role; the successful candidate will be employed by and work for them directly.

The successful candidate will work on a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, healthcare and industrial developments in Ireland and overseas. The position will involve the design and coordination of civil infrastructure from planning through tender and construction.

The position will initially be based full-time in the Limerick office during a familiarisation period and will also involve site visits. Once the successful candidate has settled into the position, there may be an opportunity to work from home one or two days per week, depending on experience, the requirements of the role and individual progress.

Responsibilities:

• Design civil infrastructure, including drainage, roads, utilities and site-development works
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications and drawings
• Produce planning, tender and construction documentation
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines
• Attend client, design-team and site meetings
• Undertake site visits and provide technical support during construction
• Review designs and ensure compliance with relevant standards and quality procedures
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
• Assist with the management and delivery of projects through each stage

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland
• At least five years’ relevant civil design and construction experience
• Strong knowledge of Irish and European engineering standards
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects through planning, tender and construction
• Excellent technical, communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Windes/MicroDrainage would be advantageous
• Previous experience working on overseas projects would also be beneficial
• A proactive approach and demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
