I am currently assisting my client, a well established civil engineering and utilities contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Ireland, in the recruitment of a Commercial Manager to join their team.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of a major infrastructure project in the Dublin region. This is a key senior role requiring strong NEC 4 Option C experience, solid utility and road infrastructure knowledge, and a strong understanding of Design and Build contracts.
Candidates must be able to work from the Dublin region during the week and travel to site as required. A full clean driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the commercial aspects of a major infrastructure project under NEC 4 Option C.
• Oversee cost planning, forecasting, value engineering, and commercial reporting.
• Lead contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Manage change control, claims, risk, and dispute resolution.
• Support tender submissions, subcontractor procurement, and pricing strategies.
• Provide commercial input into strategic project decisions.
• Work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Deliver accurate and timely reports on project financial performance.
• Support the wider commercial function across cost control, performance, and risk management.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on large scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong NEC 4 Option C experience is essential.
• Experience with utility, road, civil engineering, or transport infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of Design and Build contracts.
• Commercial experience with a contractor is essential.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong experience with cost planning, forecasting, contract administration, claims, and change control.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Ability to be based in or travel to the Dublin region during the working week.
• Full clean driving licence is essential.
