We are recruiting on behalf of a client operating within the construction industry who is seeking a Trade Counter Sales Assistant / Warehouse Operative. This is a varied, fast-paced role combining customer-facing trade counter sales with warehouse operations, offering excellent learning and progression opportunities for the right candidate.

The position will suit someone who is commercially aware, hands-on, and comfortable dealing with customers while also supporting warehouse and logistics activities.

Responsibilities:

• Meet and greet customers at the trade counter and process direct sales.
• Handle sales calls and customer orders via phone and email.
• Support external sales representatives with order processing and customer queries.
• Carry out general office administration duties.
• Manage stock control and assist with inventory accuracy.
• Load and unload trucks and containers safely.
• Pick and prepare orders for customer collections and deliveries.
• Operate counterbalance and high-reach forklifts.
• Work independently when required and collaboratively as part of a wider team.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years’ experience in a trade counter, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Valid counterbalance and high-reach forklift licences (essential).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to sales.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Ability to work in a busy, varied role with shifting priorities.
