We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing professional services firm seeking an Associate – Payroll to join their team in Navan, Co. Meath. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with strong technical knowledge of Irish payroll, who enjoys working with SME clients and delivering a high standard of service in a compliant and accurate manner.

You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients while acting as a trusted point of contact for payroll-related queries and compliance.

Responsibilities:


• Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for SME clients, including gross-to-net calculations.
• Manage benefits, pensions, statutory payments, and employee payroll records.
• Ensure compliance with PAYE Modernisation, including Real Time Reporting, RPN reviews, corrections, and reconciliations.
• Meet all Revenue deadlines and statutory reporting obligations.
• Ensure compliance with Irish employment legislation, PRSI rules, GDPR, sick pay, leave entitlements, redundancies, and terminations.
• Act as the primary payroll contact for clients, providing clear advice, reports, and ongoing support.
• Liaise with accountants and bookkeepers to resolve payroll queries.
• Manage year-end payroll processes, including Employment Detail Summaries and resolving tax discrepancies.
• Operate and maintain payroll systems (e.g. BrightPay).
• Support new client onboarding and contribute to continuous improvement and automation of payroll processes.

Requirements:


• Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally within a practice or bureau environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, PAYE Modernisation, and Revenue requirements.
• Experience using payroll software such as BrightPay or similar systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to deal directly with clients.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical standards.
