We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable and growing accountancy firm who are seeking an experienced VAT specialist at Manager or Senior Manager level to join their expanding tax team. The successful candidate will take ownership of VAT compliance and consultancy across a diverse client base, while also leading and developing a small, capable team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of VAT compliance and reporting across the firm.
• Ensure VAT processes are efficient, accurate, and fully compliant with current legislation.
• Lead and manage a team of three tax professionals, providing guidance, review, and support.
• Deliver VAT consultancy and planning projects for a wide range of clients.
• Advise clients on complex VAT matters and support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments within the firm to deliver integrated tax solutions.
• Liaise with external stakeholders including Revenue, tax authorities, and auditors.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the tax function.

Requirements:

• CTA qualified (essential).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience specialising in VAT.
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of Irish VAT legislation and compliance.
• Proven ability to manage workloads, deadlines, and client relationships.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior staff.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
