We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to work closely with SME clients, deliver high-quality financial and tax services, and play an active role in advisory, team development, and the long-term growth of the firm.
The position is well suited to someone who enjoys client interaction, technical accounting work, and mentoring junior staff, with clear progression potential.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, cash flows, and audit work in line with Irish GAAP / FRS 102.
• Complete reconciliations, adjustments, and liaise directly with clients and auditors.
• Prepare corporation tax computations, CT1 filings, VAT reviews, and income tax returns.
• Assist with R&D tax credits, CGT matters, and basic tax planning under supervision.
• Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of SME clients, providing proactive advisory support.
• Identify opportunities for value-added services and business improvement for clients.
• Manage multiple deadlines and workflows while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. -Maintain practice management systems and ensure compliance with regulatory and documentation standards.
• Review bookkeeping work and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Stay up to date with changes in accounting and tax legislation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the practice.
Requirements:
• Qualified or near-qualified ACA / ACCA / CPA (or equivalent).
• Strong experience in a practice-based accounting role, ideally working with SME clients.
• Solid knowledge of Irish GAAP / FRS 102 and Irish tax compliance.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior team members.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.
