Our client is a well-established and busy Dublin-based civil engineering contractor with an impressive portfolio of infrastructure and public works projects. They are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of cost control, procurement, and contract management across multiple high-value projects.

Position Overview:


As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of civil engineering works by ensuring budgets are met, risks are mitigated, and value is achieved at all stages of the project lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to maintain financial control and transparency.

Responsibilities:


• Manage all project costings from tender through to final accounts.
• Prepare valuations, progress claims, and cost reports.
• Liaise with project teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Oversee procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring value for money.
• Identify and manage commercial risks across all projects.
• Prepare detailed and accurate financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
• Ensure contract compliance and resolve any contractual disputes.
• Support project planning and assist in change control and variation management.

Requirements:


• Minimum 5+ years' experience in quantity surveying with a strong background in civil engineering projects.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Deep understanding of construction contracts and Irish contract law (e.g., RIAI, NEC, FIDIC).
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Proficient in cost management software and MS Office.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure.
