My client, one of Ireland's leading providers of integrated facilities management services, now seeking a General Operative to join their team on a busy manufacturing site in Athlone Co. Westmeath.

Position Overview:

As the General Operative – Facilities & Site Services, you will support the day-to-day running of a busy manufacturing site, carrying out a variety of duties including painting, power washing, litter picking and assisting technicians with general site maintenance.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in construction, facilities, maintenance or a similar environment who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining high standards. Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates are essential, while a forklift licence and experience would be a distinct advantage.

This role is initially temporary, with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will work straight day shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday or Friday, with occasional Saturday work depending on operational requirements. This position offers a great work-life balance with consistent daytime hours and the opportunity to secure a long-term role within a well-established organisation.

The salary for this position is €14.00 to €14.80 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to competitive hourly pay, candidates will have the opportunity to progress into a permanent role as the contract develops.

Requirements:

• 2+ years' experience in a General Operative, Maintenance, Facilities, Construction or similar hands-on role
• Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates are essential
• Forklift licence and previous forklift experience would be a distinct advantage
• Good practical skills and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Good level of English
• Reliable, punctual and flexible
• Immediate start/short notice period required

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out general operative duties across the site
• Painting and carrying out basic maintenance tasks
• Power washing designated areas
• Litter picking and ensuring the site is kept clean and presentable
• Assisting technicians and other members of the site team as required
• Moving materials and equipment safely around the site
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures
• Completing other ad hoc duties as required
