We are recruiting on behalf of a leading structural steel company based in Trim, Co. Meath, who are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a site-based role offering the opportunity to work closely with project, production, and installation teams on a variety of structural steel projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial aspects of projects from tender stage through to final account, ensuring strong cost control and contractual compliance.

Responsibilities:


• Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to evaluate and submit competitive tenders.
• Negotiate contract price and programme with clients and stakeholders.
• Perform materials take-offs and obtain supplier quotations.
• Carry out post-contract duties including measurements, variations, final accounts, and retention release.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, clients, and the in-house drawing office.
• Work with the project team to ensure variations, measurements, and contractual matters are properly recorded and managed.
• Prepare monthly payment applications and agree valuations with clients.
• Manage subcontractor works, variations, and invoices while ensuring contractual obligations are met.
• Coordinate with production and site installation teams to ensure programme adherence.
• Attend project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and site managers.
• Prepare and submit project handover documentation.

Requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Knowledge of structural steel drawing software is a distinct advantage.
• Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and CE marking standards is beneficial.
• Good understanding of construction contracts and contractual law.
• Strong IT skills and proficiency in standard office software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
