My client, a leading construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their team based in South, Co. Dublin

Position Overview:


As the Health & Safety Officer, you will take a leading role in ensuring the safe delivery of a high-profile Cold Chain Store project in South, Co. Dublin. This is a 60-week fixed-term contract offering a competitive salary of €40,000 to €50,000 per year, working within a live pharmaceutical site. The project scope includes demolition, new steel frame construction, roofing, cladding, underground services, and M&E installations.

You will be responsible for ensuring all site operations comply with current legislation, promoting a strong safety culture, and working closely with the project team to maintain the highest safety standards from start to finish.

This is a site-based role with standard hours of 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, though flexibility will be required as project demands change. You will also provide health and safety cover on other sites during periods of annual leave.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly

Requirements:


• Min 1 to 2 years on-site experience as a Health & Safety Officer
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and activities
Full driving licence (own transport desirable but not essential)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable covering other sites when required

Responsibilities:


• Conduct site inductions for all personnel
• Review and maintain training records
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Review and monitor certification for plant, tools, and equipment (GA1 / PAT)
• Organise and oversee inspections (daily checks, GA2 / GA3)
• Carry out regular site inspections to identify hazards
• Address issues promptly to ensure a safe working environment
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
• Prepare and review subcontractor method statements and safety plans for client approval
• Attend site meetings and liaise with project stakeholders
• Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in maintaining site safety compliance
