My client, a leading provider of catering, retail, and facilities support services, is seeking an experienced General Manager

Position Overview:

As the General Manager, you will lead the operations of a busy, multi-outlet site in Waterford, overseeing convenience store, forecourt retail, and catering services. Working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, and earning €50,000 per year, you will ensure exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and compliance across all departments.

You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards in visual food presentation, driving financial performance, and managing all aspects of P&L, labour budgets, margins, and cost control. This role also involves hiring, training, developing, and managing a diverse team to achieve service and performance excellence. Experience in healthcare environments is beneficial, along with the ability to build strong relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Proven management experience in convenience store, forecourt retail, and catering/food service environments
• Knowledge of healthcare operations (desirable)
• Strong visual food presentation skills
• Track record in hiring, training, coaching, and managing performance (including disciplinary processes)
• Experience managing P&L, labour budgets, margins, and cost control
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with clients and internal stakeholders

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of multiple service lines including retail, catering, and forecourt services
• Deliver consistently high visual and food presentation standards
• Recruit, train, develop, and manage staff performance, fostering a high-performance culture
• Manage all financial aspects including P&L, labour budgets, margins, and operational costs
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company policies
• Drive customer satisfaction and service excellence across all outlets
• Collaborate with the client and internal teams to meet and exceed agreed objectives
