My client, a well-established crane hire and transport services company, is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join the workshop team based in Edenderry, Co. Offaly

Position Overview:

As the HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs, inspections, and diagnostics on a modern mixed fleet of heavy goods vehicles and related equipment. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Edenderry, Co. Offaly, working Monday to Friday with occasional overtime as required.

You will work closely with the operations team to ensure vehicles are serviced and repaired to the highest standards, minimising downtime and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. The role offers a competitive pay rate of €22 per hour, providing an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company with a strong reputation in the transport and crane hire sector.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly

Requirements:

• Qualified HGV Mechanic or equivalent trade certification
• Proven experience in HGV maintenance and repair
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good level of English – written and spoken
• Full right to work in Ireland is essential
• Full driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills

Responsibilities:

• Carry out servicing, repairs, and maintenance of HGVs and plant equipment
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely manner
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Assist with breakdowns and call-outs as required
• Work closely with the operations team to minimise downtime
